Child Prisoners in the Philippines - this short documetary was my directorial debut. I spent three weeks inside Cebu city Prison where children are jailed with adult prisoners. I followed the release of cheeky, charismatic and street smart Tommy. The heartbreaking film which I set up, directed, wrote and prodcued captures the dreams and hopes of these kids, most in prison for stealing food. I sold the film to ABC Television and Aljazeera. It became the catalyst for a change of law in the Philippines with the government outlawing the jailing of juveniles with adult prisoners, a law that remains in place today.
